The certifications for minority-owned businesses have weight for entrepreneurs, but the heaviest barrier to lift for a minority is personal objections. First and second generation immigrants are commonly known as “workers,” and the stigma for minorities to start businesses is common as individuals are used to reporting to those of a specific gender or color.
